“A Review of Depleted Uranium Biological Effects: In Vivo Studies
Presentation by Dr Alexandra Miller of the US Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute (AFRRI) compiling the in vivo research by AFRRI and others into the biological effects of depleted uranium exposure. (24 February 2012 – ICBUW)” http://www.bandepleteduranium.org/
These reviews were presented at the symposium entitled “Military Depleted Uranium: Science, Policy and Politics” held at the AFRRI (Armed Forces Radiology Research Institute) in Maryland, US, on Nov. 4, 2010. http://www.usuhs.mil/afrrianniversary/events/DUsymp/agenda.html
And the last closing presentation was given by AFRRI’s director, Colonel Mark Melanson, and entitled “The International Science and Politics of Depleted Uranium.” I found it an “orthodox” pro-DU argument. So, the presentations by A. Miller and M. Melanson are not compatible with each other, to say the least; I suppose there is a clash between them inside AFRRI. Melanson’s PowerPoint presentation is very rough; for one thing, he mentions T. Kuhn’s notion of “normal science,” but he totally misunderstands its critical implications.
